Hello there this a remix of the famous Moon Lamp for the use with WS2812B Led Strips and WLED (NodeMCU ESP 8266) to controll the LEDs.Moon Lamp Diameter approx.: 154 mm / 6 inHole for the screwable LED Strip Mount approx.: 52mm / 2 inLED Strip Mount The LED Strip Mount is screwable into the base of the Moon Lamp. The insert can be tightened and unscrewed with a coin.Brackets for zip ties to mount the LED Strip to the mount are present. Holes in the socket of the mount are used to install the DC barrel connector and the connector for the ESP8266 to controll the LEDs (WLED).Height approx.: 101mm / 4 inNodeMCU (ESP8266) case Suitable for a NodeMCU ESP8266 with built in Wifi.I printed it in Prusament PLA Galaxy Black. For more details see the WLED tutorial and NodeMCU Thingiverse link.Modify Fusion360 and Meshmixer (zipped due to the filesize limit of Thingiverse) files are provided so that you can easily modify them.Things you will need: Soldering Iron, Heat Shrink, Sandpaper, Heat GunComponents used:* Filament (Moon): https://colorfabb.com/pla-semi-matte-whiteFilament (Stand): https://www.formfutura.com/shop/product/easywood-2804?category=459 (Coconut)LED Strip: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B088K43XQY (buy with 60 LEDs per meter)You could also use a basic remote controlled LED Strip without the NodeMCU to control the LEDs.ESP8266: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B06Y1LZLLY?psc=1Power Supply: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07HTCMJLQ?psc=1White Paracord Cable Sleeve: https://www.paracord.eu/paracorde/6mm-paracorde/white-nylon-rope-6mm Tutorial to follow for the WLED installation:https://tynick.com/blog/11-03-2019/getting-started-with-wled-on-esp8266/ Tutorial how to design and print the Moon Lamp:https://www.instructables.com/High-Detailed-Moon-Lamp/https://www.instructables.com/Progressive-Detail-Moon-Lamp/ Link to the used Moon Lamp Stand:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2818901 Link to the used NodeMCU (ESP8266) case:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4816827 (no affiliation)Print SettingsPrinter Brand:CrealityPrinter:Ender 3 ProRafts:NoSupports:YesResolution:0.16mmInfill:100%Filament: colorFabb PLA Semi-Matte WhiteNotes:Moon Lamp Print Settings:Layer Height: 0.16mmWall Thickness: 1,2mmTop/Bottom Thickness: 0.8mmInfill Density: 100%Print Speed: 50mm/sInitial Layer Speed: 14mm/sPrint Cooling: 100% starting at Layer 3Support Touching BuildplateSupport Pattern: ConcentricSupport Density: 15%Support Overhang Angle: 80°Support Z Distance: 0.32mmAs seen in picture 5 the Moon Lamp only needs support on the inside. You could also try to print without support to save print time and filament. But you would need a powerful part cooling assembly. My print time for the moon was roughly 60h.LED Strip Mount: Layer Height: 0.16mmWall Thickness: 1,2mmTop/Bottom Thickness: 0.8mmInfill Density: 30-40% (That it doesn't warp due to the heat of the LEDs)Maybe some sanding of the threads is requiredMy print time for the mount was roughly 5h.Moon Lamp Stand: Nozzle: 0.6mmLayer height: 0.28mmRetraction: 4mmSupport: enabledYou will need 3 pieces to assemble the stand.Print time per piece approx.: 2hCustom SectionPost PrintingYour Moon might be a little rough at the bottom and top. Use some sand paper (wet 200 grit and up) until it feels good.Depending on your printers dimensional accuracy you might have to sand the threads slightly so that you can screw it easily.Category: Decor
