Moon Lamp (Blood Moon) - High Definition Moon Model
thingiverse
This is a custom upgrade I made from a basic lamp. It works by employing Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to shift between a full white moon and a Blood moon. The circuit is relatively straightforward and can be easily built by someone with little experience. I want to extend credit to ELCIRCUIT.com for the base circuit design. Although I made some modifications, I still feel that credit should be given where it's due. Here are the components you'll need: 1x AC-DC Converter Cable (I simply used an old charging cable - 5V DC, 700mA) 1x Voltage Stepper 1x LED Flip Switch 1x 555 Timer 1x IRF530 MOSFET 1x White Power LED (10W) 1x Small LED (for checking power to the 555 timer. This LED is shown in the circuit image.) 1x 10nF Capacitor 1x 100nF Capacitor 1x 47uF (35V) Capacitor (polarized) 1x 10K Potentiometer 1x Potentiometer Knob 1x 1K8 Resistor 1x 10K Resistor 2x 1N4148 Diodes 2x Red LEDs 2x 330 Resistors (for the Red LEDs) To hold the moon model in place, I glued a small LED support plate to the underside of the lamp's opening. The Power LED is mounted on this support plate, with the two Red LEDs placed on either side. For optimal results, set the voltage stepper to an output of 17V and aim for a current of 500mA, which should be enough to power the White LED.
