Science Spotlight: Creating Models Based on GIS and DEM. From Wikipedia: Giordano Bruno is a massive impact crater, measuring 22 kilometers in diameter, situated on the far side of the Moon, just beyond its northeastern limb. This crater lies in an area that can be viewed during a favorable libration period, although the view is from the side, revealing limited detail. When observed from orbit, Giordano Bruno is found at the center of a symmetrical ejecta ray system with a higher albedo than its surrounding surface. The ejected material extends over 150 kilometers and has not been significantly darkened by space erosion. The crater's outer rim appears exceptionally bright compared to its surroundings. Based on lunar orbiter photos, the crater's age is estimated at approximately 4 million years.
