Update: A superior version of this model is now available here: Moon City 2.0 Update 2: I have created a new edition of this model that can be printed in three separate pieces: Moon City multipart, lamp edition ======================================== A city within a moon ravaged by decay. Based on a drawing I saw somewhere, but I couldn't track down the original artist... numerous derivatives were all I could find. Anyway, I was seeking inspiration and when I saw the drawing, I immediately wanted to try creating it in 3D, and this is my result. EDIT: I have now discovered that the original artwork is called "Arabian Crescent" and it's created by Chris Kawagiwa: https://www.chriskawagiwa.com This model requires a long print at default scale, which was necessary to print some of the details on the buildings. It took around 12 hours to complete at 60mm/s and 0.2mm layer height. I also made a test print at half the default size, but while it printed okay, I wasn't satisfied with the quality. The buildings and interior of the model require no supports, whereas on the exterior you might need some at the start.
