Moon Base One (Stand)
prusaprinters

Before I bought my first (and only, so far) 3D printer, my daughter bought me a 3D printed moon with an internal LED. I love it. The moon is about 3½" in diameter and came with a stand.

But the stand? It's a flimsy, coyote-ugly wooden piece of junk. Yech!

Here for your enjoyment is a new, simple stand to let your focus go to the moon. I whipped it up in minutes with 3D Builder that comes with Windows 10 and printed with zero infill, as the moon weighs only a few grams. And I used clear to let the color of the moonlight reflect.

Sorry about the light grey text. :-\ NOTE TO THINGIVERSE: If anybody sees this;

Please make ALL text darker. It's SO hard to see light grey on white!

Please alphabetize the Printer Brand list, Design Tools (and other lists) when adding a creation.

Be kind to the visually impaired!

Enjoy!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.20 Quality

Filament:
Sunlu PLA
Clear

Notes:

If you can print a 40° overhang, you don't need supports.
My photos show a bit of red mixed with the clear at the bottom of the stand. Yes, it's red, that's the last color I printed. Although I unloaded and imagined only clear, I didn't imagine so much pigment might remain in the print head!
I'm a newbie and haven't figured out how to get Thingiverse to put my 3mf or stl file in the regular picture spot yet. After research, I see posts that several people are having this problem. So until it's fixed...

Category: Sculptures
