In the initial books, it is depicted as an idyllic locale with verdant slopes, rivers, fruit-bearing trees, and blossoming flowers, reflecting the tranquil life celebrated in pastoral poetry. Nonetheless, this picturesque valley remains vulnerable to natural disasters like flooding and volcanic eruptions. It is cradled by the Lonely Mountains in the east, other mountains in the south, and opens up to the sea in the west.
