See Arc/k Catalog Page - https://collections.arck-project.org/view/ARCK3D0000000075 This bronze sculpture was crafted by an unknown artist as a replacement for the previous marble sculpture, created by Italian sculptor Emilio Gariboldi. The original bust was commissioned from Gariboldi in 1925 to commemorate Jose Antonio Paez (1790-1873), a hero of Venezuela's Independence War. Gariboldi's sculpture was stolen on an unknown date before 1970 and replaced with this bronze copy sometime after that year. In 2007, the sculpture was vandalized with blue paint. The blue paint was removed but years later it was vandalized again with red dots, as visible in the photogrammetry register made in April 2018. On March 17, 2019, the sculpture was stolen and its whereabouts remain unknown. The sculpture stood at Bolivar St / Paez Av, Barinas City, Barinas State, Venezuela.
