In the '80s, on the "La Figuretta" site, a multitude of marble fragments surfaced. Many of these fragments were identified as belonging to one or more extraordinary relief panels crafted by skilled sculptors active in Pisa around the 6th century BC, who were likely inspired and possibly directed by master artisans from Ionia.
