Monument to Pietro Recchi (Praying Figure)

This work was commissioned by Count Gaetano Recchi as a tribute to his brother Pietro, a renowned patriot of Ferrara. The figure of the woman praying was strongly condemned for its unconventional design, which departed from traditional canons of beauty and instead sought to capture naturalistic aspects. The monument eventually found new ownership with the Mayr family, who relocated it to the monumental cemetery in Ferrara.
