Monument in Montparnasse, Paris

This larger than life sculpture of a girl weeping was scanned in Paris' famous Montparnasse cemetery. Established in 1824, Cimetière de Montparnasse is surrounded by memorials, historical relics, and works of art that make the cemetery truly fascinating to explore. Among its most notable works of art is this weeping girl sculpture; it depicts a young girl mourning with her hair and hands covering her face. Like many historical monuments and sculptures, the work was crafted from stone. Unfortunately, the artist behind the sculpture remains unknown, but historians believe it dates back to the 19th century. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative created by MyMiniFactory. Through this project, we are building a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for everyone to access at no cost. Scan the World is an open source community effort.
