Monte Cassino in Warsaw, Poland

This memorial sculpture was designed by Kazimierz Gustaw Zemła and architect Wojciech Zabłocki. The statue, crafted from white Carrara marble, showcases a stunning winged form – reminiscent of both Polish Hussars and the Goddess of Victory, Nike (the headless Winged Victory of Samothrace). The pedestal holds an urn containing the ashes of fallen soldiers under the Cross of Monte Cassino and the hill is shrouded in a somber veil with scattered helmets lying at its base. The emblems of the Polish units that fought in the battle are also engraved on the monument's foundation. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit project launched by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the globe for public access.
