Monstrous Mayhem (Starter Set)
myminifactory
Welcome to Monstrous Mayhem, a 3D printable board game where freakish fighters clash in the ring! This game is designed to print-and-play with ease. Each monster comes with its own stat card and a handful of health tokens. All you'll need is the ring or any 3x3 tile and a couple of red and blue dice, one set per player, red for offense, blue for defense. Note: This is essentially the beta version of the game. We'd love to get help from all fine people as we streamline the game and add new pieces. We'll be doing a Kickstarter campaign soon to get some sets produced, but we'll keep the designs open source as we go. The Rules: Set Up: Each player chooses a monster and takes a number of health tokens equal to their monster's health value. Then place your monsters in opposing corners of the ring facing whichever way you choose. Roll a die to determine who will take the first turn. Playing the Game: Starting with the first player, players alternate taking turns. Each turn, a player may move their monster, then both monsters roll to fight. Movement: During their turn, a monster may move a number of times equal to their movement value. Each movement may either move the monster one tile forward or turn once to the right or left to change their facing. A monster may not move through other monsters. If moving outside of the ring causes a monster to lose health tokens and end their movement. Fighting: After a monster has moved, both players roll their red offense dice and blue defense dice. Consult the charts on your card to determine effects. First, add up the total damage and defense values. If facing another monster in an adjacent space, compare their damage against the enemy's defense and remove one health token for each point the damage exceeds. If a monster is facing an enemy's side, it gets a +1 bonus to damage. If facing their back, it gets a +2 bonus. Any monster occupying the center space may grant a +1 bonus to either damage or defense. Ranged damage can effect the closest target in the direction of the monster's front facing regardless of distance. If at any point a monster loses all their health tokens, they are out of the match and the remaining monster is the winner. After damage has been applied, apply any additional effects from the table results. Special effects can be forced movement, changes to health, etc. Any additional effects that affect the enemy must follow a successful attack. We've set up a Patreon page for anyone interested in helping to fund us so we can keep making free and open-sourced games like Pocket-Tactics, Wayfarer Tactics, and others. We also have a growing catalog of gaming miniatures that you can use for whatever you want! (Psst... we take requests and commissions...)
