monster printer
thingiverse
This is a massive 3D printer, measuring 730 x 515 x 800mm in size. The main body of the printer is constructed from sturdy MDF boards, leveraging the proven design of Case-Rap 4.0 parts, which I have extensive experience with and know inside out. Some minor modifications were necessary to bring this massive printer to life, but overall, I was able to rely on my knowledge of the Case-Rap 4.0 design, making the process much smoother. For added power and precision, two motors are used in parallel for the y-carriage, providing reliable control and stability. The y-carriage itself is crafted from solid plywood, with an auto-tramming feature enabled by a capacitive sensor. This innovative technology impresses me even more with its ability to track complex curves with ease and accuracy, giving this massive 3D printer an incredible level of precision and versatility. While some information may still be lacking for those who want to build their own identical version, I've just shown you that it's absolutely feasible to do so.
