Monster Mouth Headphone Holder- plus audio jack
thingiverse
I don't use headphones with 1/4 inch phono jacks, but my computer sits in an awkward position for plugging headphones in and out. With a cheap audio extender (on sale for USD 1.99 at Aldi) I adapted philbarrenger's design to hold the headphones and adapter socket. The audio adapter has a barrel that is about 8.5mm in diameter, with a cable that is 3.4mm in diameter with some compliance. I bored a 10mm hole where the 1/4 inch phono 'eye' was then created a pressure fit clip to keep the socket fixed in place. Figuring out how much interference was necessary took several attempts- three diameters of clip (5.0 mm, 5.1mm and 5.2mm) are included- print them all and use the one that works best for you. The file headphone_socket.stl is a test-bed to convince myself the idea would work before committing to the long monster mouth print. Also included for the brave of heart is the FreeCAD source for the clip if the dimensions need to be radically altered. The file structure could stand some improvement as it is a little tricky to modify the size without breaking dependencies. Printer Settings: Printer: Aurora A3 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: NA- at this small size it is solid Designing This I used FreeCAD
