Monster Mech

Monster Mech

I wanted my next mech to be a bit bigger than usual, to see if my new joint system is scalable. It appears to be, at least a little bit. This mech has actually been in development for quite a while, all the way back to before I released the first Jump Mech design. In fact, it started life as a flight type mech. But, as I kept improving my mechs and figured out my new joint design, I kept slowly changing the design until I was happy with it. The one thing that remained since the beginning was that I wanted to build the mech's design around what I imagined to be a chest mounted rail gun. The Monster Mech was designed with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of printing. Joints are achieved through a system of 3mm pins that give just enough friction while also easily removed with pliers (for maximum strength, print these so that the long side of the pin is parallel to the build plate). 3 millimeter ports on the arms, legs, and back allow for cross compatibility with most other model kit accessories. I hope you enjoy. Please send feedback as I may create improved versions of the figure in the future. Depending on your printer and plastic, some light sanding and/or tightening of parts may be required. Tightening may be done via thin layers of super glue or multi-surface floor polish.
