Monster Hunter - Type 41 Wyvernator

I'm participating in Capcom's 3D printing Monster Hunter Generations challenge, creating a collectible-sized relic great sword - the Type 41 Wyvernator. I've successfully printed it at 16 inches tall, breaking it down into manageable parts for easy assembly. Most components can be printed without supports, except for the blade, which requires mirroring and duplicating twice to achieve the desired shape. I opted for a 200-micron resolution with 10% infill using Hatchbox PLA, resulting in a print time of approximately 30 hours. Following this, I applied high-build primer filler and finished it off with miniature acrylic paints. The model was sculpted using Zbrush, before being dissected into individual parts within 3ds Max - allowing for impressive detail to be scaled up and printed at full size. Interestingly, scaling the design up by 650% enables the use of a 1-inch diameter wooden dowel as the handle, adding significant strength. The overall length would measure an astonishing 64 inches when fully assembled. I hope you enjoy my creation and happy printing!
