I pick up a chisel and start tapping it gently against the granite block in front of me. I've never held one before, but I'm eager to learn. The rock beneath my fingers feels solid and unyielding. I concentrate on the chisel's edge, carefully guiding it through the stone as I chip away small pieces. It's harder than I thought it would be.
