Monoprice Wanhao Maker Select V2 Duplicator (clone) X-Gantry Brace
thingiverse
The Maker Select X-Axis Gantry can be a bit shaky due to its 2 x-rods being held in place by only one set screw each on either end. This Stabilizer uses a threaded rod to provide added rigidity. It shares the existing bolt holes with the lower x-rod. Required Metric Hardware: 1x 6mm x 320mm Threaded Rod (or longer) 3x M3 x 10mm Bolts 1x M3 x 8mm Bolt (simply cut down a 10mm one) 4x 6mm Nylock Nuts - or - 8x 6mm Normal Nuts (just double up and jam-nut them) Installation Notes: You can install the brackets without taking apart much of your printer; simply unbolt the lower x-rod, which has enough clearance to slide left/right for each bracket to fit over the ends. If necessary, use a 5/16 drill bit to clean up any tight spots. The right side bracket is smaller for cable routing around the extruder motor. It uses an 8mm bolt on one end and 10mm bolts on the other. Print the xbraceRing file four times to create four Compression Rings that fit into the chamfers of the brackets where the threaded rod passes through. Tightening the nuts compresses them against the rod, reducing play (see photo).
