monoprice select / wanhao i3 spool holder on power supply
thingiverse
I have a set amount of space, exactly 18 inches in every direction, so placing the spool holder above isn't feasible. To make this work within those constraints, I designed it to use the two existing screws on top of the power supply unit itself, which keeps the spool aligned with the printer's axis. Printing this object should take around ten hours at 15% infill density, preferably using a hexagonal pattern for optimal strength and stability. The result is surprisingly sturdy considering its design simplicity. To accommodate either orientation, I've included mounting holes on both sides of the object. Please note that you'll need to purchase longer M5 screws, ideally between 10-12 millimeters in length.
