Monoprice Select SD Card Reader holder

Monoprice Select SD Card Reader holder

I purchased a full-sized SD card reader adapter for my Monoprice Select mini to make it easier to switch between my computer and printer, so I designed an enclosure to mount it on the machine. Since there were already a few designs available, but none that suited my taste, I created this one from scratch. My first attempt didn't have cutouts for holding the SD card securely in place and the retaining clips were somewhat weak, which led me to redesign version 2. This design is intended to attach to the right side of the printer, as my filament spool resides on the left. You can easily mirror it if you prefer a different configuration. The enclosure is also horizontal to prevent obstructing the platform while still keeping the USB port accessible, although I haven't used the USB feature yet. The SD card reader itself was purchased from Amazon Canada, but similar brands seem to offer identical products. Its approximate dimensions are 35 x 51 x 10.5 mm. I'm a newcomer to 3D printing, having started less than a month ago and this is my third project. Edit (Sept 7, 2018): I've since created an updated version (Ver 2.1) that offers a slightly tighter grip on the card reader. Although I still use the original Ver 2.0 design, I decided to revise the file for future reference.
