Monoprice Select Mini Spool Roller
thingiverse
This attachment ensures seamless rotation for the spool on your Monoprice Maker Select Mini (Malyan M200). Reducing stress on the spool side eliminates a major printing concern. It fits most of my spools perfectly and is easy to remove when you need to use a smaller one. Additional supplies include: Two skateboard bearings, available at Amazon for $4.99 USD per pack of eight, or likely cheaper in packs of two from a skate shop. A 10cm section of 8mm dowel (or 9/32") will work well, although some users report success with a 5/16" dowel. If the dowel is loose, simply wrapping tape around its circumference will tighten it up. Thank you to Jared Allen and Zachary Walton for their suggestions! One user has also reported that a BIC pen fits perfectly, making it an ideal substitute for the dowel. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Maker Select Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 10% Notes: The more detail you include, the better this attachment will fit snugly on your spool (assuming there's no variation in parts from printer to printer). Wall Thickness: 1.2mm Rotate models to lay flat. Post-Printing: Mount the bearings onto the rail and feed the dowel through the center hole to see how everything fits together. A small amount of adhesive will help keep the bearings in place. Design Notes: I tested this design extensively to ensure seamless functionality.
