Another creative solution for attaching a PiCamera to your Monoprice Select Mini printer involves repositioning the camera to minimize visual obstruction and conceal the cable. By relocating the camera, you can avoid blocking the view from the front while printing, allowing for remote monitoring through Octoprint. This setup keeps the camera out of sight, hides the connecting ribbon, and offers an option to add a 12-LED neopixel ring for enhanced lighting (easily controlled via Octoprint). You can thread a 20 cm camera ribbon and neopixel cables through the arm of your printer, then through the side gap in the MPSM housing, and up to the pi if you have it configured as a "backpack". Further investigation revealed that both wires can be run through the hole just behind the side gap when reassembling the printer. This leaves enough space to house a Raspberry Pi 3 at the base of your printer (simply ensure you add fan upgrades to keep both boards cool).
