This material extruder is specifically designed for the Monoprice Select Mini and Mini Pro 3D printers. Its purpose is to replicate the original components exactly, but with one key modification: it features a straight bore that allows the PTFE tube to slide effortlessly up to the extruder gear and bearing assembly, rather than being confined to a shelf. This innovative design enables users to print flexible filaments at relatively low speeds, resulting in remarkably good quality prints. With these modified components installed, simply cut the end of the PTFE tube to match the angle created by the gear and bearing. Although precision is not essential, aim for an optimal fit that minimizes any gap between the two parts. The better the tube is seated at this angle, the more effectively it will handle softer, flexible filaments during printing. After cutting the desired angle, gently push the tube as close to the extruder gear and bearing as possible. Fortunately, the standard length of PTFE tubing is sufficient for this purpose, eliminating the need for additional purchases.
