Monoprice Select Mini Heated Bed Repair/Upgrade
thingiverse
This video showcases my repair/upgrade project for the Monoprice Select Mini heated bed. For a long time, I've been dealing with issues related to wires underneath the heated bed - they'd wear out, get stuck, and chafe on the belt. To resolve these problems, I decided to reroute the wires externally through flexible conduit. Check out my YouTube video for more details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1MqNMbGtDY To achieve this upgrade, I utilized 18awg high flexibility silicone wire for the heating element and 24awg speaker wire for the thermistor leads. Additionally, I used a specific type of conduit material to encase everything. Furthermore, I applied some cork insulation to the bed, which has effectively stabilized the temperature. Instead of using foam board under the heated bed, I opted for Kapton tape to secure it in place. This approach ensures that there's still an air gap underneath the cork, preventing any pressure on the bed and potential distortion.
