I had major issues with these printers, the first problem being that the fan couldn't cool the aluminum block enough, causing the filament to clog the nozzle every time I printed. The second issue was that the printer's movement would loosen the pneumatic fitting, resulting in it coming loose every time and ruining my prints. For sure, this happens on every Monoprice Select Mini, so I designed these modifications to fix both problems. Apart from those issues, I hate the way the part is attached to the printer, so I also designed some snaps to make it easier to install. Here's how to install the new part: 1. Print the new component. 2. Snap in the new piece. 3. Insert the pneumatic fitting and secure it with the original screw. 4. Use an M3 nut and screw to secure the pneumatic fitting to the new piece. 5. Replace the small fan with a 40mm Noctua - it's easy, just cut the wires and solder Noctua's wires to matching colors; there are many videos online showing this process. 6. Test it by printing a small object. The fan upgrade has a height of 6mm and a diameter of Ø9.3mm, plus holes for an M3 nut and screw. The standard connection fan upgrade is only 3.5mm high and also has a diameter of Ø9.3mm.
