I'm excited to share my latest creation, the V5 - 40mm single fan for Monoprice Mini Select V1 with E3D hotend. I've optimized this design to fit perfectly on the V2 model as well. Several key improvements have been made to enhance its performance: A slimmer profile reduces material usage and weight, making it even more efficient. The fan side has been smoothed out for a sleeker look. I've also matched the screw holes with the Us Waterrockets E3D zero offset adapter for seamless integration. To improve wire clearance, I've beveled the inside arms. This design comes in three versions: without clips, open clips, and closed clips. To print this fan, rotate it flat on its side with supports. I printed mine using Esun PLA+, with 30% infill, and mounting screws that are 2x M3 x 25mm long. Make sure to center the heating block between the cooling arms for optimal performance. I've been running the old version since I designed it, and I'm thrilled to report zero issues. Even when printing with regular PLA at 220 degrees Celsius, I saw no signs of melting (a testament to the fan's effectiveness). Now, let me introduce you to the redesign - V4, which is no longer available. To increase airflow, I've attached a larger single fan mount from the 30mm version. The air now blows in three directions onto the nozzle, providing superior cooling. The air vents are also larger and positioned lower for better heat dissipation. I used a zero-offset mount to attach this design, which can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1848402. For my print settings, I chose PLA at 100% infill, printing the fan side down with supports. This setup keeps PLA temps just fine (200-205 degrees Celsius). However, if you need to go hotter, you may need to adjust the fan speed accordingly. In my tests, running PLA/PHA at 215 degrees Celsius at 70% fan speed resulted in no issues. In a simple bridge test, this design yielded the best results I've seen so far: Esun PLA printed at 200 degrees Celsius and 40mm/sec. The part on the right showcases this new version, while the part on the left represents the previous iteration.
