Monoprice Select Mini 3D Filament Feed Base (scripted)
thingiverse
I'm excited to share another filament feed base for the Monoprice Select Mini 3D Printer, but this one's a brand new creation, not a remix like my previous effort. This fully scripted procedural model was built from scratch inside Blender (2.78) as a proof-of-concept project. The script's layout is surprisingly similar to OpenSCAD, but it's powered by Python instead of the functional language used in OpenSCAD. Although the underlying mesh created by the script could have been improved, it wasn't critical enough to stop me from exporting it to STL. I did take some extra steps to clean up the mesh before sharing it with you. This project is still a work in progress and hasn't undergone a thorough test print yet. I'm hesitant to remove my extruder from the printer because I've just got it working again after a recent fix, and I don't want to risk messing things up. As such, this design doesn't incorporate any of the modifications I made in the remix, keeping it as close to the original part as possible.
