I had a piece of glass from a 5x7 picture frame that I really wanted to use as a print bed. I was determined not to move the z-axis limit switch, so I designed and printed this clip instead. It attaches to the left-end of the x-axis gantry, causing it to contact the limit switch earlier than usual. The thin end goes on the bottom. After printing, I carefully shimmed it out with painter's tape to fine-tune the height relative to the glass. With glass, you will almost certainly need to use a glue stick to achieve good adhesion of PLA. But trust me, it's totally worth it - your prints' bottoms will be significantly smoother than with painter's tape alone.
