Monoprice MP Select Mini Filament Guide
thingiverse
This is a simple fix that prevents kinks in filament as it's pulled by the extruder. It attaches via the sheet metal screw at the top of the printer's z axis tower. I printed it at 3 shells, 20% infill - just enough to ensure the part underneath the screw is solid. Let me know if you experience any issues! One more tip: getting the support to go at a 45 degree angle "into" the groove really makes a difference in adequately supporting the print above. The gcode I posted accomplishes this. Update: mine creaks a bit as the filament rubs against it, but I haven't had the time to try sanding it down yet. If you have the same issue, let me know! Update: the creaking disappears once the area is worn smooth! Print Settings Printer: Monoprice MP Select Mini Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.25 Infill: 20% Notes: The gcode included is for the MP Select Mini - PLA at 195/50. After it prints, remove supports. Unscrew the screw at the top of the printer, being careful not to lose the washer. Place the guide over the hole and screw the sheet metal screw back in place. Tighten firmly but slowly so as not to put too much stress on the material. I've also uploaded my Simplify3D printer profile and factory file.
