2016-10-16 - Someone noted that this filament guide continues to function perfectly with the filament filter (available elsewhere). He mentioned that the filter simply rides between the guide and the extruder. 2016-09-22 - A suggestion was made in the Facebook group to add a piece of nylon tape to the guide where the filament rubs against it. This would prevent wear and tear. So far, I'm content with not making this addition, and haven't noticed significant wear. Your mileage may vary. 2016-09-20 - I received a report that this model was printing poorly. After investigating, I believe I identified the issue as an outdated .stl file being uploaded. I've updated the model. Let me know if the problem persists. This design borrows from Jason Jones' Filter Bar and converts it into a filament guide for those who prefer not to use a filter. Like the original, it utilizes the stock screws with washers. I observed that, with the stock filament spool holder, the filament scrapes across the curved edge of the z-axis tower and enters the extruder at an unusual angle. I thought a filament guide might alleviate some pressure on the filament as well as guiding it straight into the extruder. I allow my filament to feed from the front side of the spool. I haven't tested this with rear feed.
