Monoprice Mini Select V2 Hotend CR-10 Upgrade
thingiverse
This allows for swapping out the factory hotend directly with the CR-10 style hotend. The CR-10 hotend performs perfectly, whereas I and several others have encountered numerous issues with the Monoprice factory hotend. No additional hardware is necessary. Simply print the backplate with supports facing upwards, as the faceplate does not require supports but should be printed with columns facing up. Remove the old hotend, taking care to handle the heater and thermistor wires carefully, as they will be reused. Place the CR-10 hotend between two printed halves, then place it in the factory carriage. You may need to lightly sand or press firmly to achieve a proper fit. I recommend printing with ABS or a higher temperature material due to the nature of a hotend; however, my first print was done using PLA and has been functioning flawlessly for weeks. I have included the SolidWorks 2018 design files in case you would like to make adjustments. Additionally, I have a version that works seamlessly with the excellent Micro Swiss hotend. Enjoy flawless prints!
