Monoprice Mini Bowden Repair
thingiverse
This is a set of files designed to replace the extruder Bowden Tube Connector as supplied with the MPM. The factory-style connector is difficult to find, expensive, and prone to failure. The first design utilizes a commonly available 10mm thread Bowden Connector. Simply screw the connector into the larger opening - there are no threads, just a tapered hole that fits the new connector snugly. The second style features a clamp that surrounds the bowden cable, secured by an 8-32 x 3/4 inch bolt and captive nut. The tube should fit snugly within the clamp. Both designs may require scaling up or down in your slicer due to differences in 3D printer calibration. IMPORTANT Remove the two screws holding the old connector in place. Test-fit the adapter, ensuring it's just tight enough to turn with the screws snugged up. If loose, scale up slightly; if too tight, scale down slightly (be cautious not to crack the retaining plate or struggle with threading filament). A proper fit will improve retraction behavior and produce better quality prints. Once installed, insert the bowden tube fully home. If using the clamp, snug up the bolt, but avoid overtightening - it takes little force to secure the tube.
