PEI on a heated bed exhibits outstanding adhesion when heated, resulting in finishes that resemble those of a glass bed and prints release much more easily than blue tape does when the bed cools. A clip is needed to secure your PEI bed in place. To fit correctly, this requires having a glass bed underneath it. Why use both glass and PEI? Initially, I had planned to only use glass but encountered inconsistent adhesion issues with it. However, I wanted a flat strong surface and the finish that glass provides. PEI demands a smooth surface and aluminum beds can warp.
