Monoprice Maker Select X Axis Upgrade
cults3d
I was rebuilding my Maker Select V2.1 and realized that I could move the x axis forward and backward by about 3mm. Which is bad, and the only way to tighten it was to tighten a grub nut that was behind a metal plate, a bar... and several other pieces of metal... So I designed this to replace it. The rods are completely supported and wiggle free, in fact you have to force them in a little, I just torch the inside of the holes for about a second and then push them in, and they fit perfectly! Built in upgrades: Dual Z Endstops Fully Supported Rods Screws in places you can get to Reuses what I felt was good enough Needs Work: The X Limit Switches a little early, so you cant get the full bed, but this will be fixed as soon as i get a computer again. Belt Tensioner, no way to currently tighten without removing the belt Bigger hole for the idler, its a pain to put on Belt mount to the extruder assembly needs to be offset to fit the new place for the idler The Holes for the drag chain... need to be moved to the other side... Idk how i put them on the back, for now a torch and some tweezers works to make the holes Notes: Print in higher temps if you have an enclosed build chamber put the belt on before you put them in the printer. otherwise its harder to fish it through Use teaching techs Z Endstop Mounts, with one mirrored for Dual Z endstops Will need a longer bolt and a washer for the idler, i dont know what size currently will update when i know If you got feedback let me know, i would love to make this better! If you make this please post pics! I love seeing other people make my stuff!
