Monoprice maker select plus IIIP Rear Brace (at the back)
thingiverse
I was searching for a bracket positioned at the back so that the threaded rod doesn't stick out in front. I couldn't find one, so I decided to learn how to create things using Fusion 360 and came up with this design. I'm not sure if it works well or improves your prints, but I'm sharing it anyway. Feel free to use and modify as you please. To print these components, you'll need the following materials: 2 pieces of 400-410mm M8 (5/16") metal threaded rod 2 pieces of M5 x 16 screws to replace the lower rear screws at the back 8 pieces of M3 x 12 screws because the other screws on the side and bottom won't be long enough anymore 6 pieces of M8 hex nuts to hold the rods in place 2 pieces of M8 nylon hex nuts to be placed at the bottom for added stability Optional: heat shrink tubes to cover the threaded rods (I used a combination of black and red) About the Nut Holders: The STL files contain two types of nut holders - those hex-shaped things with a half dome. One has a large dome, while the other has a smaller dome. You need eight of them printed, and you can mix and match whichever type you think is best. I personally printed four small and four large ones. The small ones are used at the outer ends of the rods, while the four large ones are used at the inner part of the rods. Here's the procedure: 1. Print the components (make sure to flip them in your slicer before printing) 2. Buy the required materials listed above 3. Remove the screws from your printer 4. Loosely connect the upper and lower parts with the rods 5. Connect the parts to the printer 6. Tighten all the screws By the way, some of my pictures are early versions of prints (before I fixed slight defects in the design). I've since fixed these defects in the final STL files that I've uploaded here. I've also uploaded a .STEP file of the entire design for those who want to modify it.
