I'm grateful to @alban for encouraging me to give something a try that I've been eager to do for ages: scanning something really tiny. It's quite challenging, especially when dealing with a cast metal object like this one. This little item, which you may recognize, measures only 30mm in length. Some folks claim it was inspired by the Kurtis Kraft midget, but nobody knows for sure - I've found a photo of the car online at http://www.conceptcarz.com/images/Kurtis/47-Kurtis-Kraft-Roadster-DV-10-AACA_03.jpg. I used my micro Nikkor 60 mm lens to scan it. I'd like to thank @nebulousflynn for sharing his expertise on lighting - it was really helpful!
