After building several historic airplanes in traditional construction, I wanted to design a fully printed model. I considered something similar to a Fokker. The problem with this type of shape is the short nose of the fuselage, which makes the plane tail-heavy. This means the tail must be very light. My idea was to cover the tail unit with a 0.2 mm thick printed coat and make the rear fuselage an open half-timbered construction for additional weight savings. I collaborated with "Wersy" on this project, who designed the wing. He put in a lot of effort to shape the surface wave-like to give it a natural look, making the wing appear as if it's covered with fabric. "Wersy" also designed the Machine Gun Spandau MG08, which you can download from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2971273. Unfortunately, on our first attempt, the ESC failed, and on the second try, we faced gusty crosswinds. Additionally, the plane was still tail-heavy, and the wheels had too much toe-in. Despite these setbacks, I hope to create another video soon. You can see the maiden flight in action at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMCIBVi18x8.
