I designed a custom grille for my Monolith M1060 planar headphones, replacing the standard stamped metal one. The stock grille tips the scales at 15.35 grams, whereas this new one comes in under 12.5 grams, making it significantly lighter. The open design of this custom grille offers a more expansive soundstage compared to the original, and I'm pleased to note that it also seems to produce a smoother audio response. My primary goal was to create a sleeker look for my headphones without increasing the weight, if not reducing it altogether.
