Monkeyz

Monkeyz

thingiverse

Monkeyz is a fun, moving one-piece print that requires no support at standard scale and uses less than 20 grams of filament including a raft. With a well-set-up slicing app and machine, Monkeyz should be ready to swing through trees and other things straight off the build plate. This novelty print can be placed in various locations such as home, work, classroom, workshop, or more, providing a fun little decorative feature. Just place them anywhere they will hang, but they can also stand on their own two feet or sit. They look particularly good positioned swinging through house or pot plants. The design features arms that rotate around the shoulder 360 degrees, legs that swing forwards and backwards approximately 180 degrees in total, and a tail that rotates up just over 90 degrees. However, it is a one-piece-print that requires no support. On a precise well-sliced file and with an accurate machine, Monkeyz should be ready to hang and swing straight off the build plate. The legs were designed to move together to make it easier for Monkeyz to stand. Monkeyz look great printed in any color, with a lot of detail in the face and the arms, legs, and tail have been designed to hang and swing as well as possible within the constraints of 3D printing. At standard scale, Monkeyz stand 95mm tall excluding the tail which swings up. This is an easy print, but please refer to the print settings and view the images provided for additional information, and post images of your Monkeyz for others to see! Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator+ Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.20mm / Standard in PLA Infill: 3 shells / 25% or more infill recommended (to ensure joints are as strong as possible) Notes: Raft is recommended for easy and safe removal from the build plate. Do not use automated support, as that could cause joints to fuse together. 3 shells and 25% or more infill is recommended to ensure the model's joints are as strong as possible (but still take care, as the joints are thin so can break if excessive force is applied). Post-Printing: Just remove the raft, then find places to hang and swing your Monkeyz. Take care with Raft removal to ensure the fine joints are not damaged or broken. The joints should be free straight off the build plate once the raft is removed.
