grabcad
A self contained unpowered camera stabilization system for small action cameras. Specifically, small action cameras as found in auto racing, motorcycle racing and other action sports where high rates of acceleration and shakiness are present.MonkeyCam® eliminates motion blur & steadies the camera for smooth action video to a superior level that software stabilization and or other motion controlled platforms cannot achieve. It uses the application of physics, namely the centers of mass as common pivot points for the 3 axes of rotation (XYZ).MonkeyCam® self-centers and self-damps any input of angular acceleration, such as driving or racing over a rutted bumpy road/track.It applies to small action cameras as found on helmets, on and off road race cars, bicycles, MX motorcycles, planes, RC helicopters, racing vehicles of all types. There is no prior art that addresses this aspect of small action video cameras and their application to any and all action sports & activities.Other systems use electronic servo controlled axes that cannot achieve smooth video, nor can they keep up with extremely high rates of angular acceleration.Other devices are not compact, they require an external power source, and or require direct input to keep them trained on axis. The electronic controlled devices are unable to compensate for high input rates of acceleration, and this is the realm of motion blur.My device completely eliminates jerkiness, vibration & motion blur. It uses no batteries, no software, no servos and requires zero maintenance. It will also work in suffocating dust, as found in off road racing.
