Monitor vs. Merrimack (Virginia) Battle Game

This is a set of guidelines for a simulated conflict based on the Battle of Hampton Roads (1862), which took place during the American Civil War. It marked the first naval clash between two ironclad warships. The simulation was designed to last 20 minutes with a group of 6 to 8 eighth-grade students. Five groups of students participated, resulting in one Union victory, one Confederate triumph, and three draws. The models were created using my Civil War Iron Clad Construction Kit pieces: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1229766 Although the Confederate ironclad is commonly known as the Merrimack, it was actually renamed the CSS Virginia before the battle, and is referred to by that name in these guidelines.
