A stand to raise a monitor has been something that is overlooked when taking classes or doing work from home. It isn't thought about when a person’s back or neck is hurting when sitting at their desk hunched over all day. When designing this, it was difficult to make sure that the 3d printed piece was not going to stand out too much. I wanted to make sure that the user could still add personality to their home setup so I added holes for plant pots. If I were to redesign this again, I would make it compatible with more monitors. I designed this to be compatible with a HP Omen monitor which had a 6 inch base. The design for the monitor riser was made with simplicity and making sure the footprint on the desk or workspace would not be too big. I think 3d printing would strengthen my design because it would make the footprint of the monitor riser a lot smaller. Although this can be done with boxes or textbooks, those things would add a lot of clutter to the desk and would not allow the underside of the riser to be used as storage for smaller items.
