Monitor Mount v1.0

Monitor Mount v1.0

This is my first try at this ball-jointed monitor mount. A few things that might be worth mentioning: 1- I left a hole going through the center of the shaft of "male_ballJoint2" so it is possible to run a safety wire as an extra safety step. I thought of it but I'm not using any. 2 - The same shaft above is longer than it needs to be so I cut it off about 1/4 of an inch but that raised a second problem that I'm gonna address below. 3 - The threads won't go in smoothly as I used one model to cut off the other...so that needs a bit of sanding of the threads to make it go in. Assembly suggestions: 1 - Start with the "male_ballJoint", put the "ball_cap" in place and the screw the "sphere" in. 2 - Attach "male_ballJoint" and "female_ballJoint" to monitor and wall/mount (I attached in this order: male side-monitor and female side-wall/mount) 2 - Screw the "ball_cap" to the "female_ballJoint" and as you tighten it up, it should hold the sphere in place. P.S. If you keep the shaft at the original length, you should be able to screw the "sphere" in as described above. If (like I did) you decide to shorten the shaft, it adds one extra step for the assembly: 1 - This time I started putting the "sphere" inside the "female_ballJoint" and tightened the "ball_cap", leaving the hole of the sphere lined up with the hole of the "ball_cap". 2 - With the "sphere" held in place by the two other parts, I screwed the "male_ballJoint" to the sphere. This second way limits the way we can attach the monitor/TV to the wall because the parts won't get separated unless you undo step 2 above. So it makes more difficult to attach the screws once one of the side is already attached. I'm taking notes of the improvements needed for version 2 of this model and if it isn't on this list, feel free to leave a comment. - Widen "ball_cap" hole to increase tilting movement range; - Reduce size of the "sphere" and relevant parts; - Reduce depth of "ball_cap" and "female_ballJoint" to allow decoupling after assembly with the shorter shaft. - Add a texture to the outside of the "ball_cap" for better grip; The holes for the screws have a 4mm diameter. The distance between screws for the support is 10cm (vertical and horizontal)
