Money Tree
thingiverse
Although I'm hesitant to spread the notion that "money grows on trees," my wife has been giving our young nephews and nieces miniature Christmas trees with rolled-up $2 bills tied to the branches for years. As a retired product design engineer who's recently dived into 3D printing, she asked if I could design some small ornaments that would hold $1 coins, allowing them to be hung on the small tree as an alternative to the traditional money tree. I came up with a star and bell printed in gold, snowflake, snowman, and angel printed in white, Christmas tree and holy leaf printed in green, and several traditional ornaments printed in red. I designed the coin holders for a US $1 coin that's 1.047 inches (26.7mm) in diameter, but the parts can be scaled up or down in the slicer to accommodate most any round coin that's 20-30mm in diameter. I've included a snowflake designed to hold the US Kennedy half-dollar coin and a "bow" to hold paper money. I use the Craftware slicer, which I believe is the best one out there.
