With the recent launch of the new 1 pound coin in the UK, I've been getting a steady stream of these shiny new nuggets in my change. The more I got, the more I wanted to hold onto them - no particular reason, just couldn't bear to part with them. So, I decided it was time to design a money box to save my pound coins, rather than leaving them loose and cluttering up my space. The design I came up with is modelled on the pound coin itself, 11 of them stacked up in a neat column with a slight rotation as they rise upwards. The top coin doubles as the lid, fitting snugly so you can easily access your change when you need it for parking or bus fare.
