Found on the Historic House Site 31HK1101 at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, the property is likely to have been owned by the Leslie family who lived there from 1869 until they sold the land to the Goin family in 1874 as reported by Steen (2005). Dating back to around 1851-1874, this historic house site has a rich history. A famous painting called "The Monarch of the Glen" was completed by Sir Edwin Landseer in 1851 and has since become an iconic symbol of Scottish heritage. The Fort Bragg Cultural Resource Management Program is responsible for curating this historic site. According to Carl Steen, Phase II Archaeological Testing and Evaluations of Thirteen Sites, Fort Bragg, North Carolina was published in two volumes by Palmetto Research Institute in Irmo, South Carolina in 2005 as part of a contract with the National Park Service (Contract No. C5890020435-D5095020469).
