The original design was the one I liked best among the available design, also it's compatible with the cheapo 6x6mm base 5mm height momentary pushbutton switches you can buy from China. The button itself was too large to fit in though, at least on my printer, so I scaled it down by 1mm side, and also made the height of the assembly as low as possible given the original design. I will further remix it to build a directional pad with 4 buttons, stay tuned.
