Molten Plastic's Open Source Forced-Air Vapor Resurfacing System
thingiverse
Introducing an open-source vapor device to enhance ABS object durability! This gadget forms a 'skin' that bonds the outer surface of your 3D prints, making them incredibly strong. After testing, a printed part shattered underfoot; however, one treated with this device could withstand it. The vapor machine comprises an ice tea dispenser, variable speed fan, ATX PSU scrap, and a 5V Molex supply. It's simple to use - pour half an ounce of acetone into the chamber, run for at least 15 minutes, then let it harden for hours. Remember, acetone is flammable and dense, so exercise caution.
