Roman Rural Landscapes at the Department of Classical Archaeology, University of Vienna 3D Model of Trench 4/2017 Reveals Hidden Roman Site in Molino San Vincenzo Excavation results from trench 4 in 2016 and geophysical prospection data in 2013 guided the expansion of the new trench to a significant extent, increasing its size from approximately 30 square meters in 2016 to around 121 square meters in 2017. Evidence of modern plowing activities was discovered throughout the entire trench. A massive linear structure was unearthed, comprising a foundation trench and wall made of pebbles that incorporated a post hole. The entire foundation trench as well as other features were carved into a Pleistocene riverbed.
