Molecuar Modelling set

Molecuar Modelling set

thingiverse

Inspired by this design on Thingiverse, I've taken it further. This model is tailored for dual extruder printers, though it can be made with a single extruder as well. A dual extruder allows the labels to stand out in a contrasting color. For single extruders, simply omit the label STL. The SCAD file generates a script that, when run under Unix or an emulator, calls the SCAD file again and produces pairs of STLs for each atom. I've attempted to convey electronegativity through the length of a collar on each peg; however, this aspect could be improved upon. It would be fantastic to visually demonstrate which bonds have higher energy. Print Settings Printer: Prussa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1 Infill: optional Notes: Some experimentation is required to achieve the optimal gap between the support and the atoms, followed by a little cleaning with a sharp knife or small side cutters. Post-Printing Clean away supports using side cutters and a sharp knife. Additionally, dip in acetone for ABS or chloroform for PLA and PETG to achieve a shiny finish.
